Collins Steel is a leader in Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), a tried-and-tested delivery model that contractually incentivizes all project stakeholders to work together. By proportionately sharing in the risks and rewards, individual companies are encouraged to deliver ‘Best-for-Project’ value—to benefit all parties collectively. IPD harnesses the talents and insights of all participants to optimize results, overcome challenges, strengthen relationships, and maximize value.
The Benefits of IPD
A pillar of Lean Construction, IPD is designed to:
- Engage key stakeholders early and throughout all phases of the project.
- Maximize quality, ensuring the best value for every dollar.
- Leverage cross-disciplinary expertise to enhance decision-making.
- Improve trust, partnership, and communication.
- Mitigate risks, reduce waste, and optimize opportunities.
- Deliver better results—on schedule, on budget, and with relationships intact.

The Collins Steel Approach
Collins Steel organically self-selected to participate in IPD models in 2013 because the philosophy is closely aligned with our Values and Lean practices. We’ve signed on to various Poly-Party contract forms and have extensive experience integrating into project teams from pre-validation, validation, design/procurement, and construction. As part of our approach to collaborative delivery, we:
- Establish project and team values, identify client conditions of satisfaction, and develop a validation report that includes a shared budget and schedule.
- Document our processes—from cost modelling and forecasting to pull planning and decision-making—through co-created project controls.
- Ensure the right people are in the room at the right time to pinpoint opportunities and sidestep challenges.
